It is now the 3rd year of the brand named Markese. This blog went from one about my NaNoWriMo experience to one just about my life. It then spawned MANY other blogs before becoming what it is today, 803 Markese Street. We’ve only recently moved to our new home at 803street.tk(which is BTW only a front for the old website, it’s just a shortened address) and we are beginning to grow.
What you probably don’t know though is that 803 is not only here on Blogger but I now broadcast over the radio and Pointethemout, my YouTube personality is also an extension of 803. So much has happened in these past 3 years but I’m looking forward to soo much more!! Hopefully this next week will be a springboard into bigger and better things.
I’m just done from watching Glee and about to make my post about it when I get on Twitter and the kidz are talking about the Lady Gaga Beyonce remix of Videophone!! YOU KNOW what happened after that.
Anyways I get the track and I’m now on the third listen. I LOVE the track if you couldn’t guess. Gaga’s verse is DOPE!! I love “Hubba Hubba!” A couple of time I can’t really understand what she’s saying though, I still am in love.
The chorus where Gaga is singing, I’m not positive I like her voice. It’s doing a bit much for me but then again it’s Gaga!!
Oh and the beginning, I am in LOVE! I immediately thought like old westerns or like a desert. But then I couldn’t really see that from Gaga’s aesthetic. I’m so confused about what the video is going to look like but all I know is it BETTA BE FIYA for keeping me waiting this long!!
BTW I did not go on Perez’s filthy site. Everyone else does though so I just got it from them.
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!! Gaga had to don those McQueen shoes after debuting her song at his show!! But then again who didn’t know it?? Gaga is THE over-the-top artist of the moment and so she wears the MOST daring outfits out of them all!! Sigh, I just love being right!!!
The song is lovely, I love it!!! I’ve already downloaded it and I actually listened to her on some radio show Saturday. She’s pretty cool, and she has confirmed that she does NOT want to go into fashion. She said she doesn’t want people to think she’s trying to start a GAGA empire, so she’s just focused on the music. She also spoke of her inspiration for this track. She said that she got inspired from Eastern Europe I think. She was at an underground club and she loved all the music and made this song in that style. She finished by saying that she’s moved from the 80’s and she’s now in the 90’s.
Let’s get on to the video, the fashion in my opinion is soooo GAGA! When it starts out I’m like fashion editorial MUCH!! I immediately noticed all of the many brands who made sure that names were seen, the jury is still out on whether that’s a good thing.
Next thing was those white outfits… I immediately thought cheap! I was instantly annoyed. then the first set of McQueen’s jumped out of that bathtub!!
On FB a friend remarked that the video was more of a fashion instillation. The choreography, he didn’t understand. With me, I just didn’t like the clenched hands. At one part it even seemed to get messy to me.
BT Dubs I’M STILL WAITING FOR VIDEOPHONE!!
So here’s how it went down. Today I’ve been on edge hyping up the Lady Gaga, Beyonce collaboration on Videophone, but at the same time I’m sad because I have basketball when the video is supposed to drop!
I go to basketball, and I’m thinking that maybe coach will be a fan too and let us out early(no such luck) but instead he holds us 30 minutes late. From there I rush to PMo auditions, and after waiting for everyone else I conduct auditions for my set(the kids auditioned to Took the Night by Chelley and loved it!).
So I rush back to the computer ready to satisfy my withdrawals that I can sense coming on, only to find NO VIDEO! I checked Youtube and I get nothing but some stupid SPOOFS and some picture from Perez Hilton, and you know how I feel about that… THING. I assume that MTV is just on their Superman-ish and just have been pouncing on every video Youtube puts up. So I head on over to MTV.
I see something about J.Lo and keep it moving, home girl is old news to me right now. I type in Videophone and articles come up! I go on Twitter and cry for help, and no one answers. Well for a while anyway.
Finally I get this:
Ahmier: @markese Lmao. Yea, as of now – it’s non existent
I am LIVID! So I go back to MTV and decide to check out this MTV thing with J.Lo and I see something that makes my brain connect. Lola is this artist I’ve been trying to find out about and J.Lo is Lola. It’s Lola’s alterego. Watch the clip:
So then my brain begins to work and I realize what has just happened. MTV has built up all of this hype for the Beyonce, Gaga video that’s going to drop. They KNOW that the fans of these two artists are loyal and predominately gay or female that are into sass and dramatics and they’ve decided to dupe them into liking the new J.Lo. While we wait for the Videophone video we are supposed to watchc the other video that’s in it’s place and fall in love with Lola. Pure genius.
So Beyonce performs at the EMA’s the same day she releases Videophone!! While I won’t be one of the first to see or post about Videophone (because I have to be at basketball practice!! ugh!) I can post about this right now!
So Beyonce opened the EMA’s and I will not lie, I was not happening with the opening to her opening. Frankly I didn’t even like that part in the video. yeah Bey, I love your voice darling but I watch your shows and performances for DRAMATICS and hunny, you weren’t serving it. When those boys let her down and she ran across that stage…. I knew that Sasha had arrived.
I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on that FIIIIEEERRRCCEEE walk they did coming forward. Bey and the back up killed, no they slayed! The choreography was very reminiscent of the video, and I don’t say that in a bad way. There were added accents in the track which just accentuated parts of the choreography a bit more. I didn’t really like the way the verses, and lines were mixed though, it was a tad weird to me.
As always she gave me an amazing voice but the part where the guys came back with the joom joom joom joom, really in my opinion wasn’t needed. I would’ve loved some more of the original song some more choreography with the girls. The mix of “My Guilty Pleasure” though was nice. I really did like it, and Beyonce kills her hip movement. Now after that I think it kind of gets awkward and she could’ve ended on a harder note.
