Single Ladies Pt. 3?

Black and white, three girls, choreography driven video. This has explained 3 of Beyonce’s videos off of the CD I am Sasha Fierce: Single Ladies, Diva, and now Ego. Now, in my opinion Ego does outdo Diva, and I like the video, it just doesn’t beat Single Ladies.
Beyonce and Co appear with crimped locks, in leotards, proving that less is more. While there are more there are more props than in Single Ladies, there aren’t as many as in Diva. The video for the 5th song off the album seems a happy medium between the two. “My goal for [the ‘Ego’ video] is simplicity.” Queen Bey said, “I saw this old tape of Bob Fosse’s wife [Gwen Verdon], and I used that as inspiration. I thought in this world, with all the technology and everything that’s going on, to strip everything down – great idea. So I kind of did the same thing, but glossy and black, for ‘Ego’.”
The choreography in my opinion fit the song and fit Bey of course. Sheryl Murakami was the choreographer and apparently leaked the choreography to YouTube before the actual video premiered. She has worked with various artists such as Avril Lavigne, Lady Gaga, Nelley, Pharelle, Nelly Furtado, Diddy, Wisin Y Yandel, Ultra Nate and Placido Domingo.
On the whole… I think I’m going to give Bey 4 pieds because of the fact that even though it was an idea that she already used, I still love the choreography and the entire mood of the video. Maybe she’ll hold the theme throughout the rest of the album.

Sounds… FETCH!

So, I was clicking around you know doing some fashion research and stuff. In case you weren’t aware, my first period Media Communications class has also become my Fashion Education 101 class. I was on Style, a site for all things fashion, and eventually found some information about this event called Fashion’s Night Out.
Apparently on September 10, 2009, Vogue, the CFDA, Mayor Bloomberg, and NYC & Company are asking for local stores and boutiques to stay open until 11pm. The date is the first day of Spring 2010 New York Fashion Week I beleive. The event is supposed to provide an influx of money for retailers as well as raise money for the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. They are even doing a clothing drive for HIV/Aid chairties.
The shirt shown will be sold, beginning in August and 40 percent of the proceeds will go to the Memorial and Museum. I think it’s a cool idea and would love it if South Carolina could get involved… I wonder how I could go about getting that to happen.
Oh and the hook is that at these stores open so late would be different events: celebrities, fashion shows, giveaways… you know fun stuff.

Wow!

So I was looking around and found this. Now I heard that Paulina was released from ANTM, but I hadn’t heard the reason or her response, that article detailed it all.
I’ve been saying the exact same thing she’s been saying since after Eva left. The show isn’t making any top models! I have to search for their pictures, and the ones that I find normally aren’t any winners. I thought maybe I was blind and fashion retarded though and just didn’t know where to look, but no Paulina agrees, the show isn’t doing it’s job.
Firstly it’s self-righteous to beleive that you can make AMERICA’S next top model. It’s prideful, and you’re basically saying you are omiscient. Plus having a competition on television takes part of the competition aspect out of it when you show clips of home life. Take American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. We don’t see their time outside of the competition so we don’t find ourselves attatched to their personalities outside of how it affects their work. The judges don’t derive ratings for who’s the most dramatic, or who causes the msot drama, but who gets the job done. A show like this would get my undying support.
I’m not going to lie though, I love the show! I just don’t think that it’s an effective competition. It’s Model House, in reality, not America’s Next Top Model.

Funny video I found on YouTube. I’m not sure if they’re serious.

Anna Wintour On 60 Minutes

I absolutely love her! One part of me wants to raise itself to her status, because she knows what she’s doing and carries a good bit of clout wherever she goes!

Neo-Dandy?

So the line Benjamin Bixby is positively amazing in my opinion. Andre 3000, the owner and designer of the line, takes a bit of the collegiate athletic style and pours in some dandy to give the line a surprisingly new vintage feel. With suspenders, high waisted plaid pants, leather varsity jackets, and rugby scarves the line is the embodiement of the style Andre has been known to wear traveling from show to show.
